Car jump on first gear shift
I have E240, 2003, 180,000KMS. When I accelerate normally the car shifting is smooth, but when I start from the Kickdown, or use the S mode button, the car jumps when shifting from 1st to 2nd. I went to a Benz specialist and check by the computer, unfortunately no faults showed up!
In general the shifting in my car is very smooth, but the only problem I am facing is from the 1st to the 2nd ONLY when using the S mode button OR the Kickdown.
Kindly assist.
Thanks.

When i first bought the car (5 years) i used to drive on Summer mode but now and since 2 years iam driving on Winter mode.
Do you think i can temporarly change the kick down and check if the fault is from it? I mean is it an easy job to change the kick down?

Out Of Control!!
I would not change anything until tested-------simply drive the car in S and let the car learn your shift patterns, remember that will take awhile!!

I went to a certified benz dealer and tested the car, showed no faults at all. When i drive on summer mode, the car keeps jumping while shifting from 1st to second! I was almost getting a fine ( violation) from the police, he thought i was racing in public! The car wheels burn on the ground when shifts to second.

Has the dealer reset the transmission adaptation? I think you can do it yourself too if you search for the instructions.
My car was doing something similar after I had some transmission service done but from 2nd to 3rd gear. It would shift at a higher RPM than I wanted it to and basically kick in to 3rd and chirp the tires.
Dealer reset the adaptation and has been fine since.
