3rd Brake Light LED Repair W211
Hi!
I´ve succesfully repaired my 3rd brake light recently on a W211 -06
(OEM A 211 820 15 56)
4-5 LED´s was broken.
I´ve replaced all 20 LED´s, total cost of 12 EUR (15 USD)
All done with a standard soldering station, that a friend of mine helped me with.(thanks to Tobias P.)
The specific LED´s that have the right specs was:
ASMC-PRB9-TV005-V2 (AVAGO Technologies)
For Swedish customers, best way to buy these LED´s are at ELFA
I´ve also sealed the circuit board with silicone, so it will be safe for moisture in the future. Be careful so it don´t get on the lens of the LED´s.
IF YOU don´t already blown your LED´s, i´ve recommend u to seal your circuit board, before it will be broken.
Because the boot is made in plastic, the amount of moisture is greater than those made in metal.
Hope that this can come handy for some of the visitors on this board.
