05 E500 4matic alignment question
3 days ago I went to the dealer for an alignment because other shops said they don't do Mercedes. Long story short, after 4 hours of free coffee and watching tv they finally brought the car out and said they were not able to align it, after even throwing in the alignment bolts without even asking me if I want them (but that's a different story). They said the frame must be bent. Well, I don't give up easily, (I'm from from Moldova 
, and I lifted the car up to see what's wrong. I discovered to my surprise that the sway (stability) bar is installed upside down (see pictures). Also at the point where it connects to the wheel, it's so close to the bolt in front of it that it rubbed half of the bolts head off. Apparently somebody installed it wrong. Back to the dealer - they say the sway bar does not affect alignment. But, why is it closer to the wheel by more than an inch then, and it's also rubbing the bolt. I'm bringing the car back in 2 days, so they can check that theory, my question is: if the bar pushes against the wheels by more than an inch wouldn't that mean that affects the alignment??
Any help and ideas are greatly appreciated!
