Balance Shaft Problem

Hi,

I was thinking of purchasing a 2007 Mercedes E350 4matic. I wanted to know if there is any way of looking up the VIN of the car to see if it has the balance shaft problem, or the idle gears.

Thanks

EPC now works....I tried to use it a few months ago but kept getting errors signing up. Last week, I gave it another go and it worked fine. Very cool stuff in here and you can see your engine number. I logged in from a Win7 machine with Firefox.
