Harsh downshifting

Has anyone ever experienced this: Occasionally when slowing down in traffic, the transmission will stay in a high gear, then when you press the accelerator more to go faster again, it will slam the gear in quite harshly. Also, sometimes the transmission will not uposhift, like when movbing slowly in a traffic jam, until 2500-3000 rpm. Any fixes for this?

Angry

I have the EXACT same issues! Just brought my car into mercedes for first service (10, 5XX miles). This was one of my major complaints.

I will let you know what they did/said (if anything). Stay in touch, just in case I lose this link.

Although the trans is an adaptive one (t0 your driving style) hard downshifting is not normal. Have your dealer reset the electronic control for the trans and it should cure the problem. It is normal sometimes on kickdown for the rpms to rise and the car not to go any faster for a second or two, this is when the trans is still trying to learn your driving style or it has and its drastically changed, I know it weird but all my late model Mb's have had this .
