I have an 06 Mercedes e329 cdi. The red visit workshop with battery icon came up. Took car to my mechanic they changed the battery and msg still there. Battery is charging at 14v. Mechanic said could be alternator and was unable to locate new alternator. Price quote from Mercedes over two thousand. Is it the alternator or could it be something else? Battery is charging is it okay to keep using car
