'04 E320 Cruise Control Freaking Out
2004 E320 sedan, bought the car used with the AMG wheel package. Previous owner had 245/40 R18 tires all around, even though the wheels are staggered.
Yesterday I had new Contis installed, in the correct sizes, 245 on front and 265 on rear. This morning I engaged the cruise control, 3 seconds after engaging the circular ring on the speedo blinks and the engine starts to bog down. Turned it off, tried again a few minutes later, same thing happens. The engine bogging down is different from just releasing the accelerator, feels like it is dying. Left the cruise off the rest of the trip, car runs fine. No error messages.
Could the new tires/size be messing with the computer? Do I need to calibrate it or reset something? Never had cruise control issues before today.
