I have simple radio and cassette player instald on my W211, no canger. Some time no sound appeas from the radio not even speaker hi volume sound but some time when i turn on the ignition radio works normaly maybe for the whole days. It seems when I use the car regularly radio works most of the time but when I dont use it for few days radio stop working but cassette player works normaly. It seems as if the antenna has a loose connection in rear sam.
Left front parking lamp also flickers and the warning appears in the center information dail. Anyone know the solution?
Please never buy a used Mercedes, it will make to go mad, you need big pocket to keep it. Very unreliable electonicaly.

 

I would rephrase your last sentence, by saying don't buy a used Mercedes without a warranty that will cover the glitches that happen. I am not going to defend the reliability of todays cars. The ability to diagnose, and repair todays vehicles is infuriating at times. A good example of an easily diagnosed repair today is when the CEL comes on: looking at a connecting rod poking out of the block!

 

Dear, we in Pakistan have only one registered dealer ship and they are not very much trained or qualified people with them, they don’t change their tools and diagnostic equipment very often on top of that they are pick pickpockets. There are few other workshops opened by people who used to work with the dealer ship for few years they repair and diagnose the vehicle by hit and trial method most of them don’t have the right tools for it. There are few other sophisticated workshops they are also the same.
Unfortunately all the German cars now days are very sophisticated and delicate with very poor quality interior, suspension, engine cooling and other plastic and fiber parts against the amount you pay to buy them or the car. Unfortunately when I bought the car it was already driven 120’000 Km in nine years, I thought its Benz and because it very expensive here, thought it should be a long lasting and reliable vehicle so I bought E200- W211, 2003 for 26,000$ but in next six months I had to spend 4,000$ for different king of electrical problems like rear Sam, Ac compressor, alternator, came sensors, radiator main cooling fan, Ac control panel, 60% of the water cooling pipes fiber attachment links ect. Now I am so afraid of the car that I barely drive it just to keep it alive still then whenever I start it after few days it gives some warning in the info dial which pisses me off.
I used Toyota Grandy 2003,4 (with all the luxury) many different Honda's and many other Japanese cars, right now I am driving Mitsubishi Gallant diesel 2000CC about 110,000 Km on the clock, Toyota Mark X 2500CC (more luxurious than Benz elegance) almost 90,000 Km my wife is driving Toyota Alison 1500CC its 180,000Km(very comfortable for its size) on the clock I used these cares on very bad conditioned roads and in remote areas with mud roads, on hill stations like 8,000 feet high bet these vehicles never failed me anywhere, I don’t even change their Oil, filters in time. I never need to open up their hoods for water or oil check before going to loon trips but whenever I go back to my house after 5 to 6 days and decide to go out on my Benz I have to look around and still then I don’t feel comfortable while driving because it’s very unpredictable even in the city. I had C200 2005 before this Benz and before that BMW 3 series all the same very unreliable after 70, 80 thousand Km. I wish this Benz stays with me with anymore trouble for one more year, I love the shape, I was planning to buy the 2010 C200 AMG but now I think I will never buy a Benz unless I could comfortably spare money to buy a brand new Benz which cost 80,000$ for the basic model.
