Article in USA Today yesterday

Did anyone read the article in USA Today yesterday regarding problems in the electronics of high end luxury vehicles? They primarily were talking about BMW 7 Series issues and included cases of the car just shutting off on the highway. Of course, problems with the E-Class and S-Class were also highlighted. Guy from MB in charge of electronics in the vehicles said they have increased the testing hours dramatically, but he maintained that even with problems, he feels that the high tech advances with some problems is better than no high tech advances at all.

On interesting point in the article was the fact that both BMW and MB have required the owners to sign non-disclosure agreements when they have bought back the vehicles and therefore, the USA Today article did not have any owner names or quotes to protect the confidentiality of the owners.

Just thought I would pass it along...

Saw it too

Yes I read this. In related news, as was posted here before, Jürgen Hubbert(CEO of Mercedes-Benz cars) said that Mercedes would rethink its policy of introducing new technological advancements first instead of testing them thoroughly and being the third or fourth manufacturer to come out with them to decrease chances of defects. He said that it had become apparent that most customers are not interested in the latest high-tech fads like ordering flowers via internet from the car.
