Big Brake Kit for W211 (Brembo GT 8)
I have the Brembo GT8 Big Brake Kit on my w211 and it needs maintenance.
If I went with Brembo replacement parts the Brake job would cost over $4000 not including labor.
With 8 Piston in the front and 4 Piston in the rear The GT8 system actually has a few variations. In other words the parts are not made strictly for Mercedes. In fact not one of the parts I purchased are MB related.
I had an Indy Benz Shop price out the parts for me and then I started my own legwork.
Here are the results: The cars I found are a direct fit:
2011 Chevy Camaro- rear pads
2008 Audi RS4 (B7) -front rotor rings and front pads
2010 BMW M3- rear rotor rings

Pads Front 70.00 (ret 300)
Pads Rear 99.00 (ret 270)
Total Brakes- 1197.00 (ret 4384.00)
Total Savings approx 3000.00

Good write up since there arent many w211's with the BRembo BBK upgrade. I to have the brembo BBK all around on my e55, I'm about do for some pads up front and this definitely helped me out and should help me save a few bucks.
So to make things clear you're telling me the front pads on our 8 piston brembo are the same pads used for audi's rs4's? Good to know!
