2008 E200 W211 lack of power
2008 E200 W211 lack of power
Hi guys, would appreciate some help with a E200 W211 (diesel).
the car is from 2008 but has been driven as a taxi in Norway for 4 years, so has lots of miles.
Although it was a bargain for Norwegian prices, it came with some small issues that I'm still fixing. Biggest problem was lack of power. Basically when climbing hills or when power was needed, it seemed the power was not there, like not enough fuel was reaching the engine and car was caughting every second. Plus rev counter twitching about 100rpms up and down every sevond.
After replacing fuel filter, symptoms decreased but the rev problem is still there and when on very steep hills the car lacks power. Strangely on flat roads don't see any symptoms at any speed. Car looks great and is great to drive, only have this problems pending.
Any ideas what needs replacing? Thanks

Thanks for reply! Starting with air filter wich is pretty bad. Then moving to spark plugs, finnaly to injectors if problem continues. Fuel pump would be my last guess because if there was a problem there, changing fuel filter would not have made any change and it did. Any recommendation for best performance spark plugs? Heard about this new E3 SP on motorz as being the ultimate bad *** SP out there, new tech they claim!
Eheheheh very true! Diesel uses direct injection!
You can clearly see I'm no mechanic therefore the cry for help http://www.howstuffworks.com/diesel1.htm
So what will a compression test give me Plutoe?
