Engine ligtf on
Hi everyone I had m cel come on yesterday driving. I had just finished accelerating passing gear and when I returned to normal speed all the lights on my dashboard lit for a second then went out. How ever my CEL stayed lit. I took it to the service department at my MbZ dealer right away a few miles away but they were closing in 10 minutes so I checked it in and left with a loaner. . I noticed the car was in limp mode due to the loss of power on the way there but the car did not turn off. I think I know what this problem is. I will be very embarrassed if I'm right. I filled up 8 hours before that and I can't remember screwing the gas cap back on. I have a feeling it's still ok the self inside the fuel door.. My question is is it possible for the CEL to come on later in the day like it did if the cap was not on in the morning ?
