"Red Battery Symbol-Visit Workshop" question.....?

I had this come on the display right after engine start every time for half the day yesterday. Now it's gone and has not returned after a full day. Only need to worry/get it checked if it comes on and stays on??

If it doesn't come back then just carry on and forget about it, right?

Happened to me when the auxiliary battery went out. A red warning appears a little excessive to me. Do you get a message about convenience functions disabled, too?

There are plenty of threads about the auxiliary battery if you use Forum Search. I am happy with Interstate FAYTX14.

Car free at the moment
It means the voltage on the little auxiliary battery under the hood is low. The car charges it for 15-20 minutes after each start. So if it was really low, it could take a couple of drives to bring the voltage up to the point where it doesn't trigger the red battery symbol.

Was the car sitting unused for a long time before you started seeing the red error message? If yes, then I wouldn't worry about it. If not, then it will be back...

Car is my daily driver that I use throughout the day for short trips. No other display except battery and visit workshop and that's now gone away.

I will now move forward with my plan of "ignoring the situation unless message reappears."

Sometimes the best course of action is no action at all.

Something like that................

In that case, I would echo Plutoe's advice and perhaps have the charging system tested. If the alternator is on the way out, it's generally more convenient to find out about it ahead of time rather than on the side of the road...

Good point. Will have Indy take a look in the next week or so when I have time to get over there.
