Best year for E class ???
Hi Guys. looking at say 2005-2007/08 E class , maybe like E350 4Matic. What has your experience been on best years for these ? Currently own a 2002 E430 4Matic and like it, wondering if 350 will make the cut or 500 is worth paying more for, fuel and performance considered. Again still looking at best years. I have read 2003/04 not great due to model change but 05 + better. Thanks in advance

I own a 2007 E350, the 2006 had the SBC brake issues.Stay away from them.

I have a 2005 CDI - if you want diesel - this is the best year. I personally like the 2008 E350 the best. The E500 is nice, but the power difference I didn't feel was there to justify it.

2012 E350 4matic Sport
2009. Period. Not even up for debate. No SBC, No Balance Shaft issues, New Command, Face Lift, final Model Year of the W211 body (best in my opinion) and so on and so on. 2008 a close 2nd. STAY AWAY FROM 2006 and 2007 at all costs. The Balance Shaft issue is enough on its own to decree these cars un-recommendable (is that a word).

2009, and I wouldn't say stay away from the 2007 if you're looking at an E550 mine has been great and virtually issue free, very mechanically healthy - but really the newest production year of the W211 is the best for the stated reasons.
