$705 + $90....does this sound reasonable?

My car's built date is tomorrow (11/20/03)...woohoo! Knowing my luck....it's going to be pushed back again. :p I'm already getting ready to order the wood/leather steering wheel. My dealer quoted me $705 for the steering wheel and $90 for labor. Does this sound right or should I shop around. Thanks!

Sounds about right. My wheel should be in this week and installed early next week. I'll let you know what the charge for installation comes out to be.

Thanks.

Which dealer will install your wheel? My quote was from Mark Motors in Arlington Heights.

Price is consistent with what I paid. $700 for the wheel and $98 for install. I don't think shopping will save much more and why not have it done when delivery takes place.

Good luck with the new one!

$785 installed. Ditto on Nevada Jack's point. Why inconvenience yourself for a few extra bucks off.

Lionhead - Same dealer. They didn't give me a firm number on the installation charge. Your note will help! Thanks!

Thanks for the info guys. Just wanted to see if this is about the right price because one dealer quoted me $100 for the steering wheel and couldn't give me a set price on installation. They said maybe 1 or 2 hours install.

Lionhead - Were you aware that Mark Motors was just sold to the Resnack (sp) Auto Group - same guys that own Schaumburg Toyota and Woodfield Lexus. Ted in service says $140 for install - you may have better luck due to a longer relationship. I want it installed so $50 is not going to queer the deal.

Did not know they were bought out. Very interesting. We've bought cars from them since 1985. I know the owner use to be Steve and we've dealt with Gene (general manager) all the time. Not sure if you dealt with their service in the past but I usually talk to Bill Wright in service regarding any service issues. Nice guy and very helpful. Thanks for the heads up regarding the buyout. Let me know how the install goes. Thanks.
