I recently had my belt fail and replaced with a new one. A few days later, the new belt was making noise. After inspection, I found that it had lost one 'groove'? The belt sits slightly off, by that one groove, of the tensioner. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like it is either the wrong belt or was not put on correctly.

It's the correct belt. I looked and belt fits into all the grooves.

Did it get installed one rib off on one pulley?

Are all the idlers lined up. I just had to return one of I ordered because it was not right for my engine and would have pulled the belt about 1/2 a rib off center.

Seems there are different part numbers for the ribbed idler, and the idlers are slightly different. Either they fit engines with different mounting points, or one requires a different bolt/washer to make it fit.

I did not get to the bottom, since the one I ordered did not come with a bolt, and fit wrong with the old bolt, I just sent it back.
