Nav showing wrong location

I was traveling southbound on I-5 passing Griffith Park, everything was fine. But, when got off the freeway, made a left turn and traveled on the streets, the nav was showing my location wrong, in fact about 5-miles off. The coordinates were not showing. I went home, in the morning when I started my car it was still showing me as being in Griffith Park.
After 10 minutes of driving everything came back to normal. The gps coordinates were showing and my location was exact.

I think the satellites were sending the wrong signals

Did you notice how many satellites you were receiving at the time you were getting the erroneous location? Usually you will have four or more in range as noted at the bottom of the display.

I have lost satellite coverage when in the mountains and in some cities with tall buildings around but never on the I-5 where you were that I can recall. However, satellite coverage varies constantly in all areas.

They also have been having some strong electromagnetic storms the past month and these could have caused temporary loss of signal.

I had a problem with my NAV on my S500 awhile back. I was traveling on a main road and all of the sudden they showed my arrow going off roading (through a forest preserve and small lake). Got home turn off the car and started my engine again and it was fine.

GPS NAV

I don't have NAv yet, but I will tell you I called TeleAid last week when i was in a remote part of Texas and asked what was the fastest way to get to Houston.

I was stunned the stupidity of the response- Drive 185 miles out of my way back to San ANtonio and then 205 miles to Houston. Should have been a 150 mile jaunt at the most. I asked the operator if she was looking at a map or what because I was so amazed that the advice was so far off. !!!!
