BiXenon questions for the SAVY
I am prepping up my new facelift headlamps that I am going to retrofit in my 2005 w211. Needles to say that I have very little knlowledge about xenons and HID's though I have all the instructions on the wiring to retrofit (thank you turbo97se)
The car is at the bodyshop geting a new bumper and some other cosmetic damage repaired. While the bumper is off, I want to give the headlamps to the shop for them to remove the old/install new.
Here are my questions: I tried testing all the bulbs with direct 12V from my fishing boat's batteries that I have on a trickle charger for the winter.
All bulbs light up except for the bixenons
Would they normally light up with 12V direct input?
If yes, what do I test next? Is there a way to test the ballasts to see if they good?
Is there a way to test the bulbs? I don't see much iside the glass. It does not seem impossible that both ballasts and/or bulbs would be toast but I would thing not as probable.
I guess now would be the best time to replace the ballasts if they are no good?
I need to bring these to the shop tomorrow, any and all input would be greatly appreciated.
