Question Anyone has Part-# for flat hood ornament??

Hi,
I will be getting my new 211 in 4 weeks and like to replace the star on the hood with a flat ornament. Since my dealer couldn't help, does anyone has the MB part-# for the replacement?

Thanks
Michael

Just curious -- what's the reason for the swap? Are you concerned the stand-up ornament will be swiped, or is it that you just prefer the look of the flush emblem?

What are the European Community cars coming with these days?

Well, I really like driving around with the star in front of me but I am concerned people may like the ornament, too and scratch my car while disasembling the thing...

On the other hand, it gives the car a more sportive touch...

My Jaguar leaper hood ornament was swiped after 3 weeks of parking the car at the commuter train lot. Luckily, there was no scratch or other damage. To my surpise, the replacement ornament was $225, which there was no way I was going to pay and then have to replace it again. So I bought the European flush emblem for $20 and swapped it myself. I also like the look of the flush emblem better. Interestingly, I spoke to a fellow commuter who used to regularly park his Jaguar in this same lot, and he said he was on his third replacement ornament. I guess some people really love those things!

Are there aftermarket flat emblems? I would have thought so given the rate of theft for the symbol!
