Suspension issues- PLEASE HELP!!
I have a 2004 E320 4Matic wagon.
I made the dreadful mistake of loaning the car to a friend and got the call I never wanted to get: There's an issue....
The issue was as follows: He walked out to the car in the morning and the car was listing dramatically to one side, specifically the drivers side. I took the wheel off and it is obvious that the rear driver side shock absorber is shot (there's oil all over it and I can physically compress the shock)
The strange thing (to me) is that the front driver side wheel is obviously significantly lower than it should be. Also I'm getting a "Visit Workshop" prompt on the center screen with a depiction of the car and downward arrow (I assume it's telling me there's a suspension isse)
The last piece of the puzzle is that I can hear the air pump kick on for a minute, and then immediately shut off.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this? If so, what have you done to resolve it? I know I'm in for a new left shock, but should I be looking at anything in the back up air shock system?
Thanks so much in advance for all your help!!
