Is there going to be an E350 any time soon?
I was recently at the local MB dealer inquiring about the wagon,
and asked the salesman if there were plans to put the 3.5 litre engine from the ML truck into the E class. He said that the 350 engine was going to remain ML only.
I had heard (I think on this board) that MB was going to replace the 320's with 350's as soon as they ran out of 320 engines.
Which is correct? Was the salesman just giving me a line to avoid having me wait for a product that he doesn't yet have?

From what I have heard, the 3.7L engine in the ML will not be used in any other models. It is simply an interim attempt to improve the ML performance. The next 350 will be a 3.5L 4-valve direct injection engine producing around 260 HP. It should be in the 05 E Class if they have it ready. Along with the 7G transmission the performance should be excellent.
