Euro Delivery Arrives in Austin
Looks like it's a banner day for E500 deliveries in Austin, Texas as I see that abhansali got his car today. Congrats! After a six week trip across the ocean, mine arrived at the dealership yesterday and I took delivery this afternoon. Was fun getting reacquainted with the car. I had forgotten just how nice it is and what an improvement it is over my 97 E420. What a difference 6 years worth of new technology makes.
After driving 1268 miles in Europe and about 50 today, it is relatively trouble-free. It does not pull to the right and I haven't experienced any electrical problems or issues with KeylessGo. Knock wood.
One potential problem that surfaced early on was what may be the motor mount ticking noise. At idle, it almost sounds like a diesel. Is that the motor mount noise or something else? My brake pedal also squeaked a couple of times today but did not continue, at least as I could tell with the radio on.
I posted some pictures when I got back from my trip, but they were blurry and the site has crashed since then. I'll take some more soon and get them posted.
Thanks to everyone on the board for all the invaluable information. This has definitely not been the smooth, first class experience I expected, but getting the car makes it worth it (for the most part). Don't worry, konigstiger, I'll say my peace when the survey comes.

Mallard - Congratulations on finally getting your car home. I believe you picked yours up on Oct 6th and I got mine on Oct 8th. I was immediately unhappy due to the noisy brake pedal. The only good thing was that I received a good deal due to the voucher from last year's DVD Nav problem and this years discounts so I sold the car right away without a loss. Believe it or not I'm picking up another E500 next week and hope that all is well. I had wanted to pick up two cars in October but they won't let me pick up two at a time so back I go. I so want this car to be troublefree since I like so many things about it, otherwise I will switch to the "Face Lifted C320" since my C320 has been a great car and much fun to drive.
