I'm going to clean the rails with a cloth and want to lube any of the moving parts.

What type of lube is recommended for the roof rails? Are there any other places on the roof that need attention. I have some grease, but I think it will be thick and dont want that smell inside the car.

Anyone use Mobil1 on the rails?

It's a special lube that's available at the dealer. Expensive stuff and far more than you'll ever need in a lifetime. Look on ebay for smaller quantity

MB lube is different since it doesn't attract crap unlike your typical lubrication. Try to talk to an indy mechanic and bring a medicine cup along and have him give you a little bit.
