Putting car to sleep

Is this true of our MBs?
Is the CAN signal that the car is locked part of what determines how deep the car sleeps (and how little current is used)?

The point on the article was that even in your "Safe" garage, you need to lock your Porsche when leaving for over a week or two.
Seems the Porsche electronics wake up a couple of times a day and stay awake for up to an hour if the car is not locked.
If it is locked, they wait for the unlock signal before waking up, saving a lot of power in the long run.
Wondering if I should be locking my GL when it sits, or our E when we take the GL on a week plus trip?
