The thing is that with the WALD LED, you're going to have to cut off the existing fog light support because without cutting it off, the LED's cant be inserted properly. It means you can never go back to fogs again after WALD LED's. Install time was maybe 1-2 hours? I don't quite remember. I made a quick thread about it after I had them installed though. The LED's are pretty awesome though, I always find myself trying to catch a reflection of them all day long, weather it's off a building window or off someones rear bumper. Looking at the LED's from a distance away from the car is just absolutely beautiful.

@beejay Did you go with the ftp LED's or did you actually fabricate your own little set?

Hahaha! I do the exact same thing with my DRLs mate! Im so glad i followed your tip to ditch the fogs and go with the DRLs. We just fabricated everything. Cut the grilles that came with it and installed the LED. Youre right, cant go back yo fogs but its all worth it.

the going rate on ebay for a e63 front with fogs is $450 shipped but lemon has me thinking about these DRLs now, and you can order the bumper with no fog lights for $400 shipped. i believe suvneer is asking $540 shipped for his bumpers.
If you do the whole kit, the bumpers are $450 each. Skirts are $200, IIRC.

fabtech doesn't sell their DRLs anymore, i contacted them yesterday and this morning he told me he wasn't happy with the quality so he started selling the WALD ones.

I also got in touch with fabtech, mentioned the same thing. wasnt too happy with the quality so he was offering the WALD. it was a bit too pricey for me so we tried to fabricate it ourselves first. turned out to be ok.

Check on my "new look" thread, Lemon sent me the link for the diy. Its not that hard if you have the right tools. All you need to do is cut the existing grille leaving the screw holders. We just used double sided tape to hold the DRL on the top side, then cut a new mesh grille to its shape, paint em black and youre done.

What..you're going air? Dude keep the 55 front end, it looks so much cleaner than the 63 front end. I think it flows a lot better with the lines of the 211. The CF Carlson lip fits better on a 55 front too, and not to mention that side gills are so ugly...

IDK mate, for me, the side fins are the best part. but, its just me. I believe they are both beautiful although the E63 has a more modern look.

Looking back at my "WALD LED DRL install" thread, I drew power from the cig lighter fuse under the hood and tapped into part of the side marker light for the brown ground wire. Pretty straightforward and simple.

To make your own LED..
