Just wanted to share, that I added a w211 to my garage...
I goofed though. Completely forgot that w211 converted halogen to projector headlights, so I thought it had bi-x, not realizing that I don't think it does (haven't even looked to confirm)...oh well, looks like I'll have to order a kit. Not planning on modding this much (just small things).
2009 350 sport w/ amg sport package (pretty much, fully loaded...except for maybe the lighting package w/ bi-x).

As long as you get a proper kit it should be fine there. It's a pain installing if your hands are anything bigger than the size of a peanut. There's just so little room to work with so be prepared for some wounds! Gratz on the new ride though!

That is a good looking car congratulations good to see another w203 member move up in the world lol
As for you lights I know matt is too chicken to do this but this is what I did last week! https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...-retrofit.html
I used E55 Hela projectors which bolt right in without modifications to the headlights and with the clear projector lens looks amazing!! The only hard part is the ballasts I used a dermal to put a hole in the bottom for the Matsu****a ballasts as they are made to be half inside half outside and made a huge mess that I am going to fix this week. If I was to do it again I would buy good quality aftermarket ballasts and either mount them completely outside and run the wires inside though the dust cap like normal hid kits or find a good quality slim ballast and just put it inside the light as you have plenty of space. To do the whole thing again once the lights were off would take me maybe an hour a side if I put ballasts outside of light. You could even screw them to bottom of light so they are out of the way plenty of space under the light for them.
I tried to do a hid kit but couldn't use any normal tools to cut the OEM bulb holder they are made really well and the aftermarket ones I ordered that looked to work wouldn't without major modifications (I will say I was looking for an excuse to do something else) I already had the H7 bubls and the old ebay ballasts that were in the high beams of my bix (that was fun so bright but I think the new setup on the w211 is brighter even with halogen high beam)

Oh, I see. That definitely makes sense. I don't have the biggest hands, but I do remember there being very little room to get behind the headlight housing. I might just have my mechanic install, if I decide to go with a kit. Already confirmed, the other night, that they're not bi-x (when looking in a window reflection and seeing no ignition spark from the lights, when turning them on. Oh well. No biggie, just won't have auto-leveling.

What's up, bro! The '09 (not sure if it started then or '08) has OEM projectors already, so that doesn't need modification. Just adding a kit or completely swapping them for bi-x. My only debate right now is if I want to spend the money to get bi-x.
Either way, my mechanic is pretty darn good at wiring (fixed my folding mirrors many times, on my w203).

All of the w211's have projectors they did slightly update the lights in 07 adding the fins over the turn signal and changed wiring/plugs a little bit.
Keep us updated on what you decide to do I did pop the h7 hid bulbs in the old projectors and they didn't look that bad but I couldn't leave them in long as they got hot and I had to hold them in.
BTW jealous of your color I really wanted another white Mercedes but ended up with silver as it had the best maintenance history I have ever seen.

What's up, Trey!
I will likely be going with a kit. Not having HID's became more apparent to me yesterday, driving the 211 around. 203 is still daily driver. Bought this one to bring folks to their various appointments, since their w210 has been pretty quirky lately.
Only reason I got white, was due to request. But I have always liked the Arctic white, so it's fine with me. And the deal I got was right in the price range for fairly low mileage pre-owned.

What's funny is, if I had purchased for me, I might've been on another mod frenzy (just as much as the w203), but I just wanted it to look as clean and slick as possible. Nothing crazy. Doesn't mean that I hadn't looked at some of the offerings out there.
Basically, this is my priority list:
- HID
- Trunk spoiler (only considering slightly)
- Roof spoiler (only considering slightly)
- Huperoptik Tint 50% (only considering slightly)
So, there's really only a single "mod" that's a "must do" for me. Everything else will be minor.

I had my mechanic do a check on everything and only thing that has about 8-12 months remaining are the motor mounts. Good thing is, I got extended warranty that should cover that. Everything else, extremely clean.
Nice looking addition. I thought that cars with healight washers had HIDs. They are not that bad to install if you know what you're doing - unfortunately you never do the first time.

That's the other thing that kinda tricked me into thinking it had Bi-x. I think it was mentioned 2007 or 2008-2009 refresh had projectors added, which might have included the washer nozels?
When I was looking the easiest way for me to tell if it had bi xenon's was the keyless go. Every single one I looked at with keyless go has bi xenon's.

I had bumped an old thread about this, but I might receive a better response from my own thread.
Do any of you know exactly what cable is compatible with my MY, for the proprietary AUX port in the glove? I called mercedes parts and they told me A0018278404, but then there is so much more info saying that there are other compatible cables with the 2009 models.
Was the refresh E Class also in 2009? That's the only thing I can think that might be getting me conflicting info.

Forgot to update with the mod that I did over the weekend (e.g. de-badged):
Flat badge, to be installed either tonight or tomorrow...purchased from one of our sponsors, JL Motoroing.
Additionally, I finally found out that the cable I was looking for is actually called a UMI (Universal Media Interface) or MMI (Multi Media Interface) cable...LOL. Shows how long it's been, since I've paid attention to what entertainment options Benz has added, after purchasing my 203 10 years ago. Anyhow, I tried an iPhone adapter with a BT adapter connected to that, but it doesn't play nice with Android. I then found a 3.5mm adapter and a USB adapter. After reading the manual carefully, I realized that I needed to re-format USB drives to Fat or FAT32, so I ended up returning the USB cable until I get another travel drive that I could use. In the meantime, I connected the 3.5mm MMI/UMI cable and it works fine, when connected directly to an android device, but the audio quality suffers a significant drop-off. I just purchased a passive pre-amp sound booster, for $29.99, with the hopes that it'll bump up the audio levels. If not, if anybody else has the UMI/MMI and knows how to accomplish BT audio streaming, without a significant dropoff, please feel free to chime in.
