Transit time

I'm back to the forum after having been bounced during the glitch last month. Does anyone know how long it takes for a car to get from Germany to Baltimore once it's loaded on the ship? There was a very helpful posting a while back on how to track your car on the shipper's web site. I entered my VIN, and it gave me the dock arrival date and the loading date (12/5/03). I'm hoping I'll have it before Christmas.

By the way, it's a silver/charcoal E500 wagon with premium, wood wheel, xenons, and cargo management. I really considered the appearance package long and hard, but opted against it. I like the standard wheels better, and after having 3 cars with black wood, I thought brown would be a nice look. Also, I really wanted the factory installed wood wheel.

I'll post pics when it gets here.

Another transit question

Am I stupid or what? I'm answering my own question. All it took was a few more clicks on the shipper's web site www.2wglobal.com to determine the ETA of the ship. It should be in port on 12/18. Next question. How long does it stay in Baltimore? Does anyone know their dock to dealer time for their delivered cars? Thanks.

I'm sure the festive holidays will get in the way too and add a little extra delay.

I had a 2001 C which I had ordered, and it took 11 days in late 2000 from what they said was Baltimore port arrival to get to the dealer in southeast VA (probably 150 miles). My current E was at the port but unassigned late last year, and the dealer was able to get it for me. It was already there and that took 9 days after I said OK to the color and options on that one.

You're probably right, but I'm hoping it gets here soon. Sold my 2002 Audi S6 a couple of weeks ago via Ebay. Been driving the Escape since then. Not a bad little car, but it's not quite an E. Anyway, had a 98 E320 Wagon, then an 01 Volvo Cross Country, then the S6. Looking forward to driving an E again.

Thanks, Jim. Christmas might be a little optimistic, but you never know.

Mine was supposedly shipped 11-18 and in process last week in the VPC ( Tuesday) and has not been seen since. Really is wearing on my patience since it's a replacement and it was promised the end of October , then Thanksgiving. Hopefully I will get it this tax year.
