Need to disable CD Changer 2008 E350
I'm out of warranty and, of course, my 6-disc CD changer is wonky. The door doesn't open past the half-way point and even when I pull it the rest of the way open, I still cannot eject any of the CD's.
There are 3 CD's in there and it doesn't work. I really don't care, but the unit keeps cycling constantly, as long as power is applied. When I shut off the ignition, it continues to cycle for a few moments, then it stops. So, at least it's not killing the battery.
I tried removing fuse #26 to disable the CD Changer, but that kills the radio and the Nav, too.
Does anyone have any suggestions for how to disable the CD changer?

Not sure what you trying to help me with here, man. Are you saying if I take out fuse #26, I have to bypass an optical cable?

Thanks Dan!!!!
So, my understanding now is that not only do I have to disconnect the power wire to the CDC (to stop it from cycling continuously), but I have to bridge the optical loop that is broken by having the CDC out of the loop - for everything else to function properly.
Yes?
Or, will bypassing the optical cable allow me to remove fuse #26 and still permit the rest of the NAV/RADIO/ETC to work? Because now, removing the fuse kills everything (including the Radio/Nav)
My desired end result is to have full functionality for everything else, but have the CDC be a dead component, causing no noise, or drawing any power.
