E500 Wagon
4Matic dif/rear oil change?

I have an 05 E500 wagon. Just turned 40k on the wagon. I can hear a little binding sound when turning at walking pace. Want to see what others recommend for changing the oil. Stay with Mercedes oils or maybe Royal Purple/Red Line?

Thanks

T

Every 39k? I was told at my 42k trans service it was done for life, and I believe it says that in the owners maintenance manual.

US Dealers are stupid never trust them. At one time MB USA did say that but now they recommend 39k miles in line with what MB recommended in the ROW.

Before you do something odd---why not determine what is causing the supposed noise!!

E500 Wagon
Took the wagon by http://www.mercedes-werks.com asking what it might be? At the time it was not so noticeable. They thought it could be the transfer case oil.
