E500 Wagon
E arrives, I leave
I'm about 20 miles outside of town, heading for NYC when the cell rings. It's my MB salesperson telling me my car is safe and sound at the dealership. As promised, it has arrived before Christmas. I tell him that's great, but I can't pick it up until Saturday, since we've packed kids and presents into the Escape and are on our way to NYC. Talk about your bad timing! To make matters worse, I arrive at my in-laws who live across the street from a lot on which an MB dealer stores it's incoming cars. Sitting there, in all its splendor is a silver E Wagon. Now I have to stare at it for the next 3 days knowing my silver E is 250 miles away. Don't quite know if this is a merry Christmas or not!

I agree. Just had a great Italian Christmas Eve dinner, a whole bunch of dessert, and our traditional Christmas Eve family gift exchange. More food, family, and gifts tomorrow. Visions of sugarplums will be replaced by visions of E500 tonight. Have a great holiday everyone.

We had to wait for a Saturday evening, a full Sunday and half of Monday for our car, and it almost killed us even though it's just a C-class. I don't know how you're going to make it, tgcrun.

Nothing terrible happened (unless you call driving from NYC to Central PA in an Escape rather than an E500 Wagon terrible), but thanks for the concern. I'm back in State College and am picking up my car tomorrow. Will post some pics.
