e500 no spark
I have a 03 E500 with 160k. Car had a rough idle. Over the past week It developed into a stall but started right up. Used a fuel additive. Car still rough. Now the starter turns but will not start. Seems to turn fast. (note... car ran worse on cooler and damp days, sometimes after a wash)
OBD2 codes low system voltage and small evap leak. Codes cleared. No start and no codes now.
Inspected top of fuel sending units under seats. No signs of leaking.
Replaced Crank sensor
Checked for spark at 2 different coils. No spark
Fuel pump primes. 52 PSI and holds at rail. During start pressure jumps around a bit but is between 54 and 58 PSI.
Im stuck.
Questions
Is that enough fuel pressure?
If fuel pressure is low, or poor quality fuel, would the ECU kill spark?
I have no errors other than break service on dash. No codes on OBD2. What could be killing my spark that wont give me an error code?
Could the ECU have failed? (fan loud when car would first start..... milage indicator flashing dashes.... false error on dash few times)
You guys are really good and I would appreciate any input. Im running out of ideas.
I been inspecting and running tests and I still cannot find a logical reason as to why I have no spark. The car has no ignition control module. Seems that spark is controlled by the computer. The computer that gave no warnings to this. And has no basic codes in it as to why I have no fire.
If anyone has any ideas as to what would kill my spark, but not fuel,..... please lay it on me. Because im running out of ideas.
Im starting to think I had and have a computer issue.
