Update COMAND and media system in 2009 E350
Does anyone know how to update the firmware on the COMAND system? I've searched for many threads for this info, but there is so much misleading stuff it's hard to separate signal from noise.
I'm currently having a problem with music playback via the 30-pin iPOD integration in the glove box. I'm hoping a firmware upgrade may address this problem.
My setup:
1. 30-pin MMI connector in glove box
2. 30-pin to Apple Lightening adapter
3. Apple Lightening Extension
4. iPhone 6 (error occurred w iPhone 5s as well; so it's not the phone!)
Problem:
When you tap Pause in the Music app on iPhone, the music stops for 2 seconds. It then automatically continues. There is no real way to pause or stop the music except by switching out of Media Interface made (ie - to something like Radio, etc)

Firmware is updated using Mercedes Xentry hardware.
Any mercedes shop can update the firmware for you. Or if you don't mind having a slightly older firmware revision (2010), then anyone with chinese knockoff star hardware can do it.

Hi, I don't think your set up will work for I have the same IPOD Integration kit with AUX. From what I have researched, there is an Apple Lightning adapter you will need to purchase to make the Iphone 6 work, and that's about $50 or so.
