I've been lazy, but finally decided to get to it this morning before the football games started. I know that this has happened to many W211s and mine was becoming more and more of an eyesore.
I originally thought about taking it to an uphostery shop, but I didn't know if they were going to be able to match the material. After some thought, I decided that the best option (based on cost and OEM fit/finish) was to source an original piece. The dealership only sells the top and bottom as a whole and it's about $160. I found just the bottom half (used) online for $40. It was a pretty simple swap.
