Sunroof side curtains

You know, the accordion type material on both sides when the sunroof is open in the tilt position. I just noticed that both have a slit about a half inch long. Is this normal and somehow I overlooked till now or are mine beginning to tear?

If you found that both have absolutely no "slits" where they crease then I guess I'll have to see that they're looked at at my next service visit. Gotta tell ya though, if they tell me that the sunroof needs to be replaced or removed for repair and I see no further tearing from now until I return for service I think it might be best to leave well enough alone.

If it's just the accordian bellows that are slit or have split apart at a fold, it's an easy replacement. They just pop on and off. It'll definitely be covered under warranty.

Petmerctech,

Great news. Thanks. An easy fix for once. It puzzles me why they tore to begin with. In any case, I will call ahead to make sure there're in stock as not to have to wait several days for tyhe repair.

Agreed. No reason why they should tear if nothing touched them. Maybe it was defective to begin with and just progressively got worse with the sunroof opening and closing.
