M272 codes

Hey

I have a 2008 R350 with the m272 engine. I know this isn't the R class forum but there is not a lot of traffic over there and I know the engine is the same as the e350 and my question is engine specific

I am getting codes p2004 and p0128. They appear to have come on together.

p2004 apparently has something to do with the back of the intake and isnt the end of the world and p0128 looks to be the thermostat stuck open or possibly the sensor. Im leaning towards thermostat as it is running at about 75 while driving. it is usually a touch over 80.

My question is it seems strange that these 2 codes have come on together. They seem unrelated. Any one have any ideas if it is coincidence or a symptom of something else.

One thing to add my compressor pulley disintegrated recently so I have been running it with a shorter belt, bypassing the compressor until I get chance to replace it. These parts are incoming. I wouldn't think this would have any impact on the intake or thermostat though.

Car runs fine. has a little over 100k , no drive-ability issues at all.

I appreciate any help.

Thanks
