My New Plat. Blue E500 - beautiful!

I just took delivery this afternoon of my new E500. Platinum Blue, Ash interior. Appearance and Premium Package, along with wood/leather steering wheel. I added the wheels/tires at the same time too. Moven wheels & Yokohama tires. I can't wait to put on 1k miles so I can see what this car can really do!

The rims are Moven M13's, and the tires are Yokohama ES1000's.

nice color combo! so you added the wood wheel after the car was delivered? i personally love the leather stitched airbag that comes with the wood wheel direct from the factory...i wonder how much that costs.

But the wood on the steering wheel does not appear to match the dash's wood trim. Is this just the result of the steering wheel being more in the foreground vis-a-vis the lighting conditions?

Beautiful car and great wheels, congrats! You HAVE to lower it though...especially with those great wheels. These stock E's look like they are 4 wheelers they ride so high. It is easy to do and you can do it yourself for a less than a dollar in a couple of hours.

please explain how you can lower an e-class for less than a dollar in a couple of hours.
Are you talking about spring pads? can you give a more detailed description of what you did to lower yours. thank you

It's the same color wood. The flash just hit the steering wheel brighter than the wood in the background.

If you order the Premium package, then you can't add the wood wheel direct from the factory. I tried, as did others on this forum. For some reason MB didn't allow that combo at that time. Something about there not being enough bird's eye wood for the wheels. Do a search online and you'll see posts about it, unless they were lost when the forums when down last month.

I agree that the stitched center leather looks better, but it just wasn't an option at the time I ordered.

Yes, it would look nicer with a 1" drop, but I wanted to keep the ride as stock as possible. I figured 18's would be as big a wheel as I could go and still not have to drop the car. It came with 17's.

Excuse me, but that color (exterior) has got to be the BEST I've ever seen! Wow, that is beautiful! It's hard to express, seriously. The blue looks amazing!

Beautiful combo , congrats. One thing that may help out in the interior is ordering the E55 shift knob with black insert vs the silver one. Make sure you give them the interior leather code as it all comes in one integrated piece........service can install it in 5 mins.

Best of Luck and enjoy the pants off her........

Derek.

Congrats on the car! Looks great. I also got my car from H of I.. where are you located? If it isnt too inconvenient, I'd like to take a look at your moven wheels, since I have been debating between those and some others.

Where are you located?

You'd be more than welcome to check out my wheels, except the drive would be pretty darn far. I live up near San Francisco in the Bay Area.

I found MarcusBenz via this forum, so that's how I ended up purchasing from "H of I". Saved me a load of money, thanks to the info on this forum as well.

I purchased the wheels from a shop that just so happens to be down the road from H of I, by the way. I did a Google search on "Moven wheels", and their shop popped up. They actually drove the wheels/tires directly to the MB dealership after I paid for the, and the MB service shop mounted them on the car for me, before they trucked the car up to me. They weren't too happy that I didn't buy the wheels from them, but I saved over 50% by purchasing them elsewhere.

Hey Brav, I live in Orange too and I have the Movens if you want to see them. I also know a great shop to get them in OC.

Where in Orange do you live?

I am sure you enjoy the Platinum Blue color of your new E-class as much as I do mine. I get numerous compliments from people all the time. Some even tell me that they are not "a car person", but they love my car. I also like the fact that I don't see very many of teh same color around. In the area of town in which I live I have seen several new E320s and E500 all are either black, silver or Desert Silver.

Enjoy your new ride!
