Question Question about spring pads

I believe that installing smaller spring pads is the easiest and cheapest way to lower your ride height, but when i asked my service manager about it he was totally against doing anything like that.
why are most dealers and service guys so closed minded when it comes to tuning, etc.

He said it would make it impossible to align the car to original specs and could cause other problems. Has anyone done this on a 320 without airmatic?

Do you really think it is just closed mindedness?

actually i know its because it makes their jobs harder, but I still think they should be more willing to help their customers out.

I don't have an answer to your lowering question but I'm sure you can lower your car without compromising your ride "too much"...
Just remember any mod to your car no matter how small will change the "factory spec"... The question you have to ask yourself is how much of the ride, comfort, handling , etc your willing to give-up in the process.... All auto makers spend a lot of $$$ tweeking a car for the best ride and perfromance with the parts their using, but it doesn't mean it can't be improved on by you. I think the wrenches have a viable gripe about the mods anyone makes to their car especially if your going to have them work on it.... but ultimatly its your decision for sure...
