Glove Box

Hello folks

This has been on my mind since I got my 211 in late October.

There is a sleeve (which I know contains the mat) and 2 built-in clips within the Glove Box cover.

Can anyone tell me what is the built-in clips for? I tried a series of tools but none seem to fit iwell within the clips.

Any ideas?

I believe the clips are for a pen.

It fits a tire pressure guage,the pen type..........

we put a mag-lite flashlight in there, the 2nd smallest one fits perfect

Based upon your responses, it appears that MB had those clips for clipping generic items (pens, pencil flash lights) and nothing specific.

I thought that they were meant for a specific tool or item. In BMW's there is a socket within the glove box meant for BMW flash lights and I thought these clips were for a specific MB tool.

Early last year this was discussed on the board and some pictures were posted. I believe the two larger round clips are for a small maglite flashlight. The mat goes in the ash tray if you are a non smoker and remove the inner ash tray compartment. This then gives you a useful small storage area. The flat clips holda a post-it note pad. You can also fasten a small ball point pen to the small round clips.

I have set my glove box up with all of these items and used each several times. I especially like the small mag lite and the storage area of the ash tray with the mat in it.
