A few E500 Questions..

I have a 03' E500 and was wondering a few things..

1) I am looking at some 19" wheels. I see some people run 8.5" all the way around while others run 8.5 in the front and 9 in the rear. Is there any advantages/disadvantages to either preference? Do I need to know a specific offset when ordering the wheels?

2) I was looking at some Fosse wheels. The Lusso's to be specific. Does anyone have any experience with this brand?

3) Since I have airmatic suspension, I read that you can have the computer reprogrammed to lower the car. The article I read had a 1.5" lowering done to it. Is this the max? Anything I should be aware of when having this done? (I assume the 19" wheels will still fit fine without any clearance problems)

3) I have the standard HID lights, but want to install the xenon. Is it as simple as buying the xenon bulbs from the dealer and installing them?

Thanks..

-Geoff

sorry i can only partialy answer 3a and 3b. i dont think US dealers will lower it for you unless you have good ties with them...but do a search on EPower, he lowered his car very easily, and very cost effective. i thought HID were xenons, but its to late to get "real xenons" unless you buy a whole new kit which means new housing, i think prices are starting at 1100. the best way for you to get brighter lighrs would be to buy fake blue lights and get a local shop to do it. Real Xenon's made by Hella (OEM) are available starting at the end of the month from Hella's USA rep. PUMA. They said they would have the Bi-Xenon's with active tracking available by the end of the month. Cost is $800 for the pair. Should be relatively easily installed. I will let you know when I get mine.

I was talking to Evosport in southern california. They said they could do it. I will call them again tomorrow and verify.

They offered to lower the suspension, remove the speedo lock, and raise the shift points of the transmission, as well as some other type of chip mod that supposedly yields 10-15 hp.
