DIY: W211 Rear Bumper Removal
Step 1 Remove the trunk floor to reveal the tools and covered spare tire
Step 2 Remove the two screws in red and the pins in blue and remove the spare tire cover and the piece of foam covering the battery.

Step 3 Remove the four hooks held down with torx screws

Step 4 Remove the two pins on each side of the carpet siding.


Step 5 Remove the six square pins shown below



Step 6 Remove this piece of trim and dont forget to unplug the lights on both sides

Step 7 Move the carpet siding to the middle to give yourself some room. Remove these three bolts to free the air tank and move it aside. Do not unhook the air line just move it out of the way.

Step 8 Remove these four bolts. theres two on each side.


Step 9 Remove the three black nuts. You cant actually see them in the picture but I circled where they are.

Step 10 Now remove the nut in red and the pin in green. Repeat on the other side aswell.

Step 11 Now pull aside the splash guard and remove the bolt. Repeat on the other side.

Step 12 Remove the two bolts under the bumper holding it to the spare tire well


Step 13 Now just slide the bumper back and take it off and you're done!

And well ive done this once before and that took me a while to figure everything out, this time it took me a little over and hour and a half to take the bumper off and put the new one on.
