Hit a curb, side airbag deployed.
So I was driving home and someone merged into my lane. I had to brake and evade the collision, but I lost control and hit and jumped the curb pretty hard.
Driver side curtain and rear door bag deployed. I'm okay, but was definitely scared. This is car is solid. Inspected damage and it's not bad. No body damage except for scrape under air dam, major rim damage and the bags. Car drives straight and is doesn't "look like" there is any suspension damage. Further review definitely required.
So I was debating making a claim with insurance or paying the repairs myself. I understand airbags are gonna be expensive plus having the reset the SRS light. I'm leaning towards insurance with the risk of a higher rate later.
