Unhappy Fuel Pump Issue

Anyone have the surging/cutting out engine issue related to the fuel pump at very slow parking lot speeds? I took it in yesterday and they said it's normal on this car and it only happens once in a while with just the right condition. They are going through the fuel system just in case though.

I can't believe how many weird issues are now "normal" with the new E. We've had our car 3 months and it's been in the shop for a third of the time we've owned it.

Are you talking about how the car stutters at slow speeds (i.e. in parking lots)? I remember reading awhile back that it was a problem with the torque converter (not the fuel pump). Some people have had it replaced and it fixed the problem. I think I'll just live with it since it happens so infrequently. Besides, I like to stay away from dealer service departments as much as possible

Yup

That sounds like the issue.

It happens to us pretty frequently since we live at the beach and our garage is on a blind alley so we drive slowly in that area quite a bit.

i've got the same problem, but like you said it happens so infrequently that i'd rather live with it than have the stealer make it worse or fck something else up

My car has this surging at very light throttle/low speed situation. It's annoying - but I'd rather not bring the car in for it... as mentioned before - it happens sporadically and who knows what else might get screwed up?
