malfunction resetting

Hi I have just bought a 2003 merc e320 cdi. The battery went flat after the car being stood for a while. Not the cars battery is charged the lights abs, Esp and bas visit workshop have come on. How do I get the messages off and the abs light off, I'm thinking it may just need resetting due to battery.

Does your vehicle have the accessory battery located under the hood? If so, you may want to have it checked out.

I will have to have a look. I bet it's knackered although it's been starting ok. I have had another warning come up to do with electrical something switched off. This came on this morning.

The auxiliary battery has nothing to do with starting the car; it's intended to supply emergency power to your car's systems in the event of a main battery or charging system failure.

Also, try turning the steering wheel to full lock left and then full lock right. Often this is used to reset the sensor limits after loss of power or sensor replacement.

Go here and download and read the W211 files: http://www.mercedestechstore.com/pdfs/index.htm

Hi thanks for all your help. I've been out and tried to look for the other battery, couldn't find it. I've just downloaded the files you put in the link.
I've just done the lock to lock with the steering but no change.

Is it only the star diagnostic that can reset it, just looked and it seems expensive to buy. I'm wanting to buy a diagnostic system that will work on my car, is any other available to work on it?

If the aux battery is no good would this cause the abs, eas and bas lights to come on?

Ok the car came up with a message where it says electrics turned off. I've now replaces the aux battery and that message has gone.
Now need to have the abs esp and bas lights fixed. When I test drove the car those lights wasn't on. Just came on when the car wouldn't start due to being stood for 2 month resulting in battery being poor.
