PROBLEM WITH ECM/ECU OF W211 E280 CDI
WANT TO KNOW THE REASON OF ECM FAILURE OF CAR DONE ONLY 50000 KMS WITH NO ELECTRICAL PROBLEM, AND WHY SHAMAN MOTORS MUMBAI CHARGING ME ALMOST 2LAKH RUPEES FOR THE CHANGE OF UNIT.IF MERCEDES SUPPLIES SUCH PARTS WHICH KNOCKS OF AT SUCH LOW MILAGE WHAT TO EXPECT FROM SUCH A KNOWN BRAND CARS. REALLY DISAPPOINTED.

Understand your frustration,however to get a correct technical answer MB will have to investigate your ECM to find the reason for the failure and I doubt that will happen!!
In todays consumer economies individuals have one recourse----don't buy the product.
In your case you drive an 8 year old car in a developing country with loads of alternative transportation systems---you have great human, animal and mechanical cabs, a good subway system and an excellent rail system---why drive!!
