Fault code C249B - can anyone help with this fault code?
Dear fellow merc owners,
I have a 2003 E320 CDI W211 diesel and it is giving me the following fault codes and descriptions.
1. Under the SBC module on my Autel scanner:
C249B Test cable system status to N10/1 (Drivers side) SAM control unit with fuse and relay module for voltage.
2. and under the CDI3 module on my scanner:
2136-1 Glow plug cylinder 4 faulty
My main issue is point 1 and knowing what I need to do to get the fault fixed.
Mercedes garage reckon it could be a new SBC unit or pump but of course they would say that as its up to $5k, plus they did not give me a definitive answer as to what the fault was when they looked at it.
I get the error message Service Brake - Visit workshop on my dash display as the malfunction message.
I cannot get this car through roadworthy (Australia) since I imported it (Sep 2014!) ... someone please help.

What you need to do is replace your rear SAM unit for the updated one, use the factory harness with the factory plug and use an adaptor for the four wires, making the right installation will correct many issues, the vehicle will recognize via SAM that a trailer is connected, vehicle will adjust brakes, suspension, lights.
