2003 E320 VS 2002 Lexus LS430
Hi,
I am in the market for a fairly new used car. My budget is about $50000 including all the fees and taxes.
I am considering a used 2003 E320 or a used 2002 LS430 Base model. They come out to be about the same price.
Which do you think is a better buy? and why?
Thanks
I have been a owner of a 97 E420 and a 95 LS400. Both are great cars. Lexus LS400 is problem free but E420 was more fun to drive.

Nothing much has changed with the new models. Look around the forum and don't say you weren't warned if you choose the E.

I suggest you get the LS430!! I would say the steering feel on the new E-class is the same as Lexus, both are very light so the more fun driving the mercedes part does not exist anymore.

Owning both a Lexus and an E500 my feeling is after driving the 320 is get the Lexus.
Again, IF you can stretch your budget a bit and get the E500 , especially a NAV return car then that would be my first choice.
If not , then , the Lexus is a wonderful car , powerful V-8 and will hold its resale value over the MB. I have found my SC 430 2 seater to be as trouble free a car as I have ever owned.

I have a 1 month old E500, and my wife drives an LS430.
My suggestion would be to get the LS430, if you can't afford an E500. The LS430 has LOTS of power/torque. It's fun to drive, and of course there's the Lexus luxury.
The E500 is the one to get for more power/fun/sportiness. The LS430 is tops in luxury.

Since it's going to be a used car you should compare what's available out there, the cars' condition, color and options combination, etc. before making up your mind.

You should be able to negotiate a new E320 for about $50k. When I first brought mine, I paid list. But my mother brought one recently (Nav, sunroof, HK stereo, heated seats/steering wheel) for about $50k out the door.
