can somebody please point me at the right direction where I can decode VINs in english version?

i found a website as well. its actually 5.5li but 550 designation didnt come out here down under. anything I should look out for with this car? ill start a thread on the 219 section, im just more comfortable here.

Yeah, just U.S version which called "CLS550", but in Euro/Japan version it called "CLS500", but they are the same, which is 5.5L,
should to match all the VIN info., (Engine #/tranny #/interior & exterior colors),,
also ask for data sheet of service with repairs..

sure, with all mentioned before; suspension/ABC/SBC also is soo important,,
if the owner said he replace them, try to get any prove for that..!!

Have you checked with EPC-Net? In the US it's free, don't know what they charge in AU. You just need a US credit card and address.

MY would be model year. Not sure exactly when they switch over, but typically by July of 2009, they would be making 2010 models. They might even have been making them in June, just a guess as to the exact date.

the car we're looking at is advertised as 2010 but when i saw the decoded VIN from konigster it has a "delivery date" of 2009. I just want to be sure if it is in fact a 2010 car. cheers guys!

I need help also. I purchased a new S550 at the beginning of March and it has been built and due to arrive at the end of April. The VIN I was given is WDDUG8FB1FA179830 I don't seem to be able to find it on any of the sites and it also looks like it has too many letters? I want to verify it has what I ordered.

Just ran it in EPCnet. Nothing comes up. Says invalid model/model designation. So either you have the wrong VIN number or it's just too new to be in the database yet.
