Transmission issue - in the shop
Hey guys,
Dropped the E off at the dealer this afternoon - hope the wire harness is leaking but it's probably the conductor plate.
When expecting up-shift from 2-3 (I always use C mode) it 'bucked' several times, like trying to shift but also refusing to shift at the same time.
SA at Knauz was cool, gave me a 2015 E350 4M (with only 8 miles!) to cruise in.
That 7 speed is going to warrant an entire thread by itself LOL.
Crosses fingers...

Sounds like it probably is the conductor plate but I thought that issue was resolved on 08+ model years. Please update me on this because my 07 has been having this problem for about 2 years now but it hasn't been severe enough for me to want to spend $1700 to repair it. Then again it might be a simple fix like changing your transmission oil.

Hi Lemon,
I think it's the conductor plate too...
Only experienced the weird shifting 3 times in the past 2 weeks.
My old C (same 722.6?) had the leaking wire harness once, only trans issue I ever had with it during the 100k miles I put on it, but it never shifted like that.

Yeah it appears to be a problem with the early 7 speed autos. The majority of the "clunk" noise for me appears to occur when the engine is cold-mid warm. Once it fully warms up, it's there but at a much less noticeable rate, sometimes even shifting perfectly. This also only happens to be as well from 2nd to 3rd.

I noticed in mine if I keep it in C mode for extended periods of time, more than two weeks it will shift harshly between 2nd and third. Putting back into S and flooring it makes it go away.
FYI: I am still looking for a mechanic to do a transmission service. I wanna get the 100,000 mile service done at MB but only if they service the transmission.
