engine swap

Hey I was wondering how much work would go into an engine swap. I was thinking replacing my 3.0L v6 from my '09 e300 with a 5.4L v8 kompressor from the e55. I know that selling my car and buying the e55 would be better but I can't seem to sell my car. Also which other upgrades would you recommend instead of the swap since I have 228 HP and I would like 400-500
Thanks

Not worth the hassle of doing the swap. Unlike Honda or any other simple cars our cars are electronically driven which makes things a bit more complicated. Don't play with fire unless you have the means to put it out.

Good luck!

^ +1 It is a very expensive road to go down as you need someone that knows how to use a star machine for many hours to get things working. You will need tons of parts such as the engine and transmission. The rear end will probably need to be changed as well to have the correct gear ratio's. I will say that I have heard of people not changing the transmission but if you are stepping up to the e55 motor I would say it is necessary.
A basic parts list right their is looking at what 10K and you will probably need tons more stuff as you go along.
I have seen many people talk about doing a Mercedes engine swap over the years on here and off the top of my head can only think of one person to actually do it.

What upgrades can I get for my car then ? I want more HP and don't know the easiest/cheapest way to get it, every forum says to buy an other car but that's not an option for me. I have 20k left to pay for my car to the dealer and the price of it on the market is 13k

Sadly not really many mods that will get you the power you need that won't cost more than the car is worth. I assume they make headers for your engine which could help with a tune but that won't get you anywhere near the 400-500Hp mark. You might gain 50-75HP if you are lucky.
My recommendation is pay the car off enjoy it and then when you can upgrade to an AMG.

Just enjoy what you have now. By the time you have your priorities straightened out you'll be able to afford the newer E63.
