Warning Light Problems after Dead Battery Boost
My 2004 E500 sat for 2 months. Trunk Battery was totally dead. I got a jump start and trunk battery tested OK. I charged battery and it appears fine.
BUT... I now have the following warning messages:
1 - Display Malfunction - Visit Workshop. The Engine Oil icon is above this message.
2 - SRS Restraint System Malfunction - Visit Workshop. Red SRS light is on.
3 - Yellow Check Engine light is on.
I have read the forums and some posts suggest SBC battery may be involved.
Might anyone have suggestions as to what I should do.
Also... Comfort/Sport button doesn't activate and Parktronic is disabled . Lots of views so far, but no advice yet... Hoping someone out there can assist. Don't want to just go to a "stealer" blind.

Where did you attach the jumper cables?
How did you charge the trunk battery? If it was attached to the car at the time, what amperage did you use?
It doesn't sound like the AUX battery is the issue. (It's not the "SBC battery". Lots of posts on this forum misapprehend how it interacts with the electrical system.)
Nothing jumps out as being the obvious single source of all these issues, other than that something screwed up something in your electrical system or on your CANBUS. The dealer isn't your only option. A good independent shop that has an XENTRY computer is a good option. But the car probably does need XENTRY to analyze what the car thinks is wrong with itself.

The car was boosted by a AAA technician. Because we were having trouble accessing the battery in the trunk (another story), he first attached a portable unit to the front small battery to see if it would take any charge... it didn't. We then got in the trunk and we started the car with jumpers attached to his vehicle. I dont know what the amperage was. That worked first time.
